A new outdoor music venue opening this spring on the lawn of the Long Center will be named the Statesman Skyline Theater at the Long Center in a partnership with the Austin American-Statesman, the venue and promoter Paragon Presents announced Wednesday.

The inaugural event on May 20 will feature country star Justin Moore. Other concerts currently booked for the space, which will have a capacity of 7,000, are Boston with Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx on June 11, the Steve Miller Band on July 26 and the Goo Goo Dolls with Collective Soul and Tribe Society on Sept. 11. More will be announced soon.

“Statesman Media and its premier news and entertainment brands, Austin American-Statesman and Austin360, are thrilled to be a part of the Statesman Skyline Theater at Long Center’s inaugural season,” said Susie Gray, publisher of the American-Statesman. “This partnership brings together two of Austin’s most iconic entities to provide the best live entertainment to the city’s burgeoning music scene and its fans.”

“This new partnership is a natural result of the strong and successful relationship we have cultivated over the years with the Austin American-Statesman,” said Marc Seriff, Long Center president and CEO. “We are excited to debut the city’s newest premier music venue alongside one of Austin’s most well-known entities.”
