Music fans who dropped by the Continental Club for Dale Watson’s long-running Monday night residency received a special treat last night when smooth crooning Fort Worth soul sensation, Leon Bridges, stopped by the club and sat in with the Austin country music stalwart.
Bridges’ phenomenal breakout was one of 2015’s great musical success stories. In January of last year, he was a largely unknown artist who rode into town on a wave of blog buzz to play a couple sold out shows at the Continental’s sister club C-Boy’s. By autumn he was commanding crowds of thousands at ACL Fest .
Bridges is in town for a pair of sold out shows at Stubb’s BBQ on Wedsnesday and Thursday. Thankfully, the Honky Tonk Doctor, Dianne Scott was in the house to capture this bonus pop-up.
