Miranda Lambert fans who bought tickets to her cancelled show this Friday at the Frank Erwin Center may take solace in the news that Lambert’s new album now has a release date.
“The Weight of These Wings” is the title of Lambert’s sixth album, her first in two years. It will be released Nov. 18, according to a tweet that Lambert sent Tuesday around 4 p.m. A Facebook post with the same video attached to it was also posted on Lambert’s official page about half an hour later.
The album’s first single, “Vice,” is currently No. 6 on Billboard’s “Hot Country Songs” chart.
According to a news release, “The Weight of These Wings” is produced by Frank Liddell, Glenn Worf, and Eric Masse.
Lambert was recently the recipient of the Academy of Country Music’s inaugural Merle Haggard Spirit Award, given to “a singer-songwriter and performer whose career reflects the uncompromising integrity and steadfastness of spirit embodied by the late Merle Haggard.”
