Austin music venues both large and small turned up in Pollstar’s 2016 year-end lists of top-grossing music venues.
The lists are broken down into categories of different venue types. The Austin360 Amphitheater ranked 43rd in the world for amphitheater ticket sales. The Erwin Center cracked the top 100 for worldwide arenas this year at 91, after ranking 101 last year; it also reached the top 50 nationally, ranking 50th.

Two Austin theaters placed in the worldwide top 100 ticket sales for theater venues: ACL Live at 57th and Bass Concert Hall at 65th. The Long Center, made the top 200, at 132nd.
The worldwide club rankings included two Austin venues in the top 50: Stubb’s at 17th and Emo’s at 42nd. Also in the top 200 was the Parish, at 139th.
Pollstar’s full year-end roundup of lists also includes rankings in several other subcategories, including the top-grossing North American tours. Houston’s Beyonce topped that list, with other local and state notables including the Dixie Chicks at 19th and Willie Nelson at 98th.
